How can you better understand what God said? There are several basic questions you can ask yourself, the answer to which will reveal to you what God intended to communicate. Here are the four questions to ask yourself after you read each passage of Scripture:
(1) What point does the author intend to communicate to his audience?
(2) What does this passage teach me about the Father, Jesus, or Holy Spirit?
(3) What is God doing in this passage, and what are his purposes?
(4) Is there a sin to avoid or an example to follow in my life today?
Using the reading plan contained in this book, along with answering these four questions for each assigned reading, will greatly help you understand God’s Word in a deeper, fuller, more impactful way.
